GSSSB X-Ray Technician Paper Analysis 2026 (31 August)

After checking all 210 questions, the Testpaperlive faculty team rates the overall paper as moderate. Quantitative Aptitude and the comprehension passages were scoring, but the Reasoning section had lengthy puzzles and the Current Affairs questions were Gujarat-specific and tough. The technical part was concept-based — along with conventional radiography, it had many questions from MRI safety, CT reconstruction, ultrasound and digital radiography. Because of the 0.25 negative marking, accuracy matters more than the number of attempts.

Section Questions Difficulty Level Good Attempts
Reasoning & Data Interpretation 30 Moderate 20–22
Quantitative Aptitude 30 Easy to Moderate 22–24
Indian Constitution 10 Easy to Moderate 7–8
Current Affairs 10 Difficult 4–5

GSSSB X-Ray Technician Expected Cut Off 2026

GSSSB prepares the merit list on the basis of CBT marks after negative marking. The table below shows the previous trend (approximate) and the expected cut off 2026 (out of 210), prepared by the Testpaperlive faculty team after analysing this paper. With 246 posts this year and a moderate paper, the cut off is expected to stay around 1–2 marks lower than the previous trend.

Category Vacancies Previous Trend (Approx.) Expected Cut Off 2026
General 65 120–122 118–120
EWS 24 112–114 110–112
SEBC 83 110–112 108–110
SC 20 102–104 100–102
ST 54 90–92 88–90

Important: The above cut off is an expected estimate for guidance only, not official. Female, ex-servicemen and PwD cut offs are usually a few marks lower. The final cut off depends on the final answer key, number of candidates and category-wise vacancies. Always check the official result at gsssb.gujarat.gov.in.

Factors That Will Decide the Cut Off

  • More posts: 246 vacancies give more room than smaller X-Ray Technician recruitments.
  • Negative marking: 0.25 mark deduction pulls the net score down for students who guessed.
  • Tough current affairs: Gujarat-specific 2026 questions reduced scores in Part A.
  • Final answer key: changes after objections can shift scores by 1–2 marks.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: candidates must also clear the minimum qualifying marks prescribed in the GSSSB notification.
