The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has officially released the AIIMS NORCET 11 Notification 2026 vide Notice No. 103/2026 dated 24 July 2026. The online application process for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) 11 has started, and eligible nursing candidates can apply from 24 July to 13 August 2026 (till 5:00 PM) through the official AIIMS website. As per Annexure-V of the notification, around 2,218 Nursing Officer vacancies have been tentatively notified across participating AIIMS and other institutions.

What is AIIMS NORCET 11?
NORCET stands for Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test. It is a national-level examination conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi, to recruit Nursing Officers for AIIMS and other participating central government medical institutions across India. Candidates are shortlisted through a two-stage computer-based test (Preliminary and Main) followed by document verification.

As per the CIB decision dated 27 July 2019, 80% of seats are reserved for female and 20% for male candidates at participating AIIMS. PwBD vacancies are included horizontally across categories. The number of posts is tentative and institutes may notify additional vacancies before the closing date.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing or a Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree from an institute recognised by the Indian/State Nursing Council, or a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) with two years of relevant experience. Candidates must be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council. The age limit is 18 to 30 years, with category-wise relaxations in the upper age limit.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection involves three stages:
- Stage 1: Preliminary CBT – 100 MCQs (20 GK & Aptitude + 80 Nursing), 100 marks, 90 minutes, 5 sections of 18 minutes each
- Stage 2: Mains CBT – 160 scenario-based MCQs, 160 marks, 180 minutes, 4 sections of 45 minutes each
- Stage 3: Document Verification
There is a penalty of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer in both stages. The qualifying percentile in Prelims is 50 for UR/EWS, 45 for OBC and 40 for SC/ST (with an additional 5 percentile relaxation for PwBD).

AIIMS Nursing Officer Salary 2026
Selected candidates are appointed as Nursing Officers under Pay Level 7 of the Pay Matrix, with an initial basic pay of ₹44,900, along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other benefits as per Central Government norms.
