What is AIIMS CRE-5 2026?
The Common Recruitment Examination (CRE-5) is a single-window recruitment by AIIMS New Delhi to fill Group-B and Group-C non-faculty posts across many participating AIIMS institutes and other Central Government bodies (ICMR, CNCI Kolkata, RML Hospital, Kalawati Saran, CAPFIMS, RHTC Najafgarh, Vardhman Mahavir, etc.). One application and one exam can make you eligible for jobs in several institutes — you only set your preference order later.
Who Can Apply?
B.Sc. Nursing (4-year) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing holders with Nursing Council registration (for Senior Nursing Officer / Staff Nurse Grade-I). For ANM: 12th + ANM certificate with State Nursing Council registration. Multipurpose Worker: Matriculation + MPW course.
Eligibility — Post, Qualification, Experience & Age (AIIMS-wise)
The essential qualification, required experience and age limit for each post are given below, exactly as per the official notification:
| Post (Pay Level) | Age Limit | Experience | Essential Qualification | AIIMS / Institute |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Senior Nursing Officer / Staff Nurse Grade-I Level 8 |
21–35 yrs | 3 years as Staff Nurse Grade-II (min. 100-bed; Nagpur & Kalyani require min. 200-bed) | B.Sc. Nursing (4-year course) OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate)/B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic, 2-year) from a recognised Institute/University + registration with Indian/State Nursing Council + 3 years experience as Staff Nurse Grade-II. | AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Nagpur, Raebareli, Vijaypur, Kalyani, Deoghar, Gorakhpur |
| AIDS Educator-cum-Counsellor Level 7 |
30 yrs | Experience/training in counselling (communicable diseases) | B.Sc. Nursing Degree from a recognised Institution/University + experience and training in counselling related to communicable diseases. | AIIMS New Delhi |
| Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) Level 4 |
18–25 yrs | Not required | 12th Standard pass + ANM Certificate from a recognised State Nursing Council & registration as Auxiliary Nurse/Midwife; OR Female Multipurpose Worker course; OR ANM course under 12th vocational scheme (CBSE/INC approved). | Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Najafgarh |
| Multipurpose Worker Level 4 |
30 yrs (relaxable up to 40 for AIIMS employees) | Not required | Matriculation + Multipurpose Health Worker course; OR Vocational Higher Secondary with MPW course; OR Matric + ANM/Female MPW certificate registered with State Nursing Council. | AIIMS New Delhi |
Note: The main Nursing post (Senior Nursing Officer / Staff Nurse Grade-I, Level 8) needs B.Sc. Nursing (4-year) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing + Nursing Council registration + 3 years Staff Nurse Grade-II experience — this requirement is essentially the SAME across all AIIMS (the only minor variation is the bedded-hospital size, 100 vs 200 beds). ANM (Level 4) is a 12th + ANM-certificate post, and Multipurpose Worker is a Matriculation-level post.
Age Relaxation
The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved and special categories as below:
| Category | Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 5 years |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) | 10 years (over and above the relaxation for SC/ST/OBC) |
| Central Govt. employees with 3+ years regular service (UR) | 5 years (OBC/SC-ST employees get further relaxation as per rules) |
| Group-C: J&K domicile (1980-1989) | 5 years |
| Group-C: Widows / Divorced / judicially separated women (UR) | Up to age 35 (OBC up to 38, SC/ST up to 40) |
Age relaxation is counted from the upper age limit and applies per participating institute/post only (not across all institutes collectively). Crucial date for age = closing date of registration (3 July 2026).
